Attendee:NKNU Director Chun (Graduate Institute of Teaching Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language), Assistant Professor Cheng、Project Manager Miss Lee、ISIS Deputy principal Anna、ISIS Primary Department Director Jackie、ISIS Primary Department Chinese chair and Homeroom teacher Grace
1. Goals
l Promote the understanding of teaching and learning Chinese in the 21st century education context.
l Provide opportunities to early career teachers to understand teaching pedagogy, assessment and teacher’s collaboration.
l Support teaching and learning at ISIS.
2. Duration of Internship
l Approximately 4 weeks
l March 9 – Apr. 10, 2015
l Monday – Friday
3. ISIS Expectations toward Intern Teachers
l Possess bilingual ability
l Enthusiastic, focused, hardworking
l Participate in in-class activities, grade and department meetings
l Candidates with teaching license are preferable
4. NKNU Expectations
l Designated master teacher is assigned to each intern teacher
l Opportunity for intern teachers to teach with supervision
l Feedback from master teacher in evaluation form (The evaluation form will be provided by Institute.)
5. Transportation and Boarding
l ISIS will provide an access to intern teachers to take the school bus, subject to the seat availability.
l Boarding house can be organized upon request with NTD 5,000 monthly rate for single room, with NTD 2,500 monthly rate for double room (Equal rate to ISIS teachers).
l ISIS temporary parking permit can be applied.
6. Food in School Cafeteria
l Lunch NTD 60
l Dinner NTD 60
l Paid by intern teachers
7. Intern teachers will be provided temporary cubicle (if possible) and an access to teacher’s lounge.
8. Evaluation Meetings between ISIS and NKNU
l 1-2 evaluation meetings between ISIS and NKNU will be arranged during the internship period to ensure the quality of the program and the understanding between two parties.
9. Acknowledgement from NKNU
l In return, NKNU will provide gift and/or International’s conference attendance,
or professional development opportunities to master teacher as an acknowledgement of their contribution.
l Certificate of appreciation to master teachers will be provided from NKNU
10. Early Termination of Internship
l Early termination of internship can be requested if the intern teachers are not able to meet the expectations.
11. Timeline
l Jan. 12:NKNU provides evaluation form.
l Jan. 16:ISIS informs NKNU grade level and master teachers.
l Jan. 26 (or Feb. 25-26):NKNU provides candidate list and their CV, ISIS and NKNU selection process begins.
l Jan. 28 (or Feb. 27-28):Finalize candidate list
l March 9:Internship program begins.
l April 10: Internship program ends.
